Live audio or live video: which fits you?
Live audio and live video both bring people together in real time. They ask different things of you, so the right choice depends on what you want to share.
Live audio
In a live audio room you are heard, not seen. There is no camera setup, and the format suits conversation, music and storytelling. You still need a reliable connection for clear sound.
Audio-first rooms are found across the market, including features inside chat apps and apps built for live rooms.
Live video
Live video puts a person on screen. It suits performance, cooking, gaming, teaching and anything where the picture matters. It needs better lighting, a stable connection and more comfort with being watched.
Large live video services include game-streaming and general video platforms. Their features, rules and audience vary, so check each one directly.
Picking one
Start from what you want to share. A conversation or a song needs a voice. A craft or a performance needs a picture. If you are not sure, begin with audio and add video once you feel at ease.
Think about privacy as well: on video, your surroundings are part of what you share.
Using both
Some apps offer several modes in the same place. Vozzo, for example, lets a host choose Audio Room, Solo Live or Party Live when going live.

Questions, answered
Is live audio easier than live video?
Usually. It needs less setup and no camera, and it works well on a modest connection.
Can I switch from audio to video later?
It depends on the app. On Vozzo you choose the mode when you go live.
